The International Labour Research and Information Group (Ilrig) invites you to a panel discussion on Current Housing Struggles and Land Occupations in Gauteng at the 2018 Jozi Book Fair The discussion will focus on current land and housing struggles in urban areas in Gauteng, government’s responses and the need for land and security of tenure for the urban poor and working poor in the context of the debate around land expropriation without compensation, Gauteng Premier David Makhura’s ‘rapid land release’ programme and ongoing land occupations and evictions in Gauteng and elsewhere.
