[WEBINAR] Women Under Lockdown

Jun 3, 2020

LISTEN TO THE RECORDING HERE.

You are invited to a Zoom webinar.
When: Thursday, 4 June 2020, 2PM SAST
Topic: Women Under Lockdown

The nature of South Africa’s COVID-19 lockdown has meant increased violence, insecurity and exploitation faced by the working class. Women bear the brunt of this, as seen by the rise in domestic violence, as well the disproportionate role women play in reproductive labour and in the essential and precarious workforces.

Join us for a discussion with women from community and worker formations about the gendered impact of this moment and the forms of feminist organising required to move forward.

Speakers:
Deniel de Wet – Commercial, Stevedoring, Agricultural and Allied Workers Union (CSAAWU)
Patricia Makhubu – Gauteng Community Health Care Forum
Kashiefa Achmat – Housing Assembly
